Build Live Drums Into Your Package
Live drums can join a DJ for the whole night or only for the big moments, and they fit into any wedding, Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah package alongside an MC, dancers, an LED wall and lighting. When you want the drummer locked to the DJ's dance sets from start to finish, that is our DJ with live drummer show.
For Israeli and Jewish celebrations, darbuka hand drums bring a traditional rhythm to the entrance and the hora, and a bouzouki can add a Mediterranean melody. We travel with the full team to San Diego, Las Vegas and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a live drummer add to a DJ set at an event?
A live drummer playing over a DJ mix doubles the energy on the dance floor in a way no recording can replicate. Guests see the physicality and skill of a live performer while hearing a perfectly mixed DJ set — the combination is electrifying.
Can you combine a live drummer with your DJ for a wedding?
Yes — the DJ + live drummer hybrid is one of our most requested packages for weddings and Bar Mitzvahs. The drummer performs during peak dance moments while the DJ manages the full event flow.
Do your drummers perform Israeli and Middle Eastern rhythms?
Yes. Our drummers are versatile across all styles including Israeli pop, Middle Eastern rhythms, jazz, rock, Latin, and electronic — seamlessly integrating with whatever music the DJ is playing.
Is a live drummer available for corporate events?
Yes. A live drummer is a spectacular addition to corporate galas, product launches, and award ceremonies — adding a premium entertainment element that elevates the entire event.
How do live drums on stage work with the DJ?
The drummer plays a live kit on stage with the DJ and follows the DJ's mix in real time, so the drums and the music move as one. The DJ keeps the songs flowing all night, and the drums come in on the big moments: the grand entrance, the hora and the peak dance sets. Both run through one sound system from one team, so the timing feels natural to your guests.
Can a live drummer play the hora at an Israeli or Jewish wedding?
Yes — live drums are a natural fit for the hora, driving the circle as the couple goes up on the chairs. The drummer builds with the DJ's Israeli and Jewish dance set, so the beat grows with the room rather than competing with it. For a more traditional sound, a darbuka hand drum can lead the hora instead, or join the drum kit.
Can a live drummer lead a Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah grand entrance?
Yes — live drums turn the grand entrance into a show, building the beat as the Bar or Bat Mitzvah walks in. The DJ cues the music, an MC announces the entrance in Hebrew and English, and the drummer stays on for the hora and the dance floor. Choreography for the entrance is available on request.
Darbuka hand drums or a full drum kit — which is right for our event?
It depends on the sound you want: a full drum kit gives the dance floor a big, concert-style beat from the stage, while a darbuka brings the hand-drum rhythm of Israeli and Middle Eastern music. The kit, or the LED drum kit, suits a high-energy reception or Bar Mitzvah party, and the darbuka suits the hora, the couple's entrance and Israeli dance sets. You can also book both, so the night moves from hand drums to the full kit at its peak.
Do you offer an LED drum kit?
Yes — an LED drum kit is available as an option for weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, corporate events and parties. It adds a lit-up look to the live drumming and works well alongside the LED wall and lighting from the same team. Ask for it when you request your quote.
Do you provide a live drummer in San Diego, Las Vegas or San Francisco?
Yes — live drummers are available well beyond Los Angeles: we travel with our team to San Diego, Las Vegas and the San Francisco Bay Area, plus Orange County, Santa Barbara and Palm Springs. The drummer can perform on their own or as part of a DJ and drummer show from the same team. Tell us your date and venue to check availability.

“We hired On Air Productions for our wedding and we couldn't have gone with a better choice! After doing a lot of research and talking with multiple DJs/companies, we knew that DJ Gilad Emesh would be right for us. He is so friendly and easy to talk to that we felt comfortable with him right away. It was extremely important for us that our wedding have the type of music and vibe that would make it a continuous dance party while also representing our cultures (we are Israeli and Russian). Gilad was a pleasure to work with and a very experienced professional. We were impressed by how knowledgable and able he was to incorporate all types of music (dance, electronic, latin, russian, israeli, hip hop, etc), and also went the extra mile by helping us decide on the flow of our wedding schedule. He was able to bring the style we wanted and get everyone on the dance floor and read the crowd. So many friends and family members (both younger and older) complimented us on how great he was! The emcee that worked with Gilad was also fantastic and spoke very naturally with the crowd without being too involved, which was exactly what we wanted. If you are considering hiring On Air Pros, definitely don't hesitate- you can rest assured that you are in great hands and won't regret it! Thank you so much Gilad!!”
