Cold Spark Machines Los Angeles
Safe, low-temperature spark fountains that turn entrances, first dances and hora lifts into unforgettable moments.
Indoor Spark Fountains Without the Fire
Cold spark machines send up a shimmering fountain of sparks that looks like fireworks but runs cool to the touch. Because there is no open flame and no burning heat, they are welcome inside Los Angeles ballrooms, hotels and event spaces where traditional pyrotechnics are not allowed. It is the drama of a spark shower, minus the smoke, the fire risk and the permits.
The effect is all about timing. As the music builds and the room dims, the fountains rise on cue and frame the moment — a couple stepping onto the floor, a chair lifting during the hora, a mitzvah reveal, or a headline act taking the stage. We control height and duration to suit the ceiling and the crowd, so the sparks feel bold without ever crowding your guests.
On Air Productions LA is a one-vendor full production led by DJ Gilad Emesh, so the sparks are never a rented add-on you have to run yourself. We deliver, place, test and operate every unit, and we cue it right alongside the DJ set, lighting and stage design. From weddings and bar and bat mitzvahs to corporate galas across Southern California, it all comes from one crew who already knows your timeline.

“We hired On Air Productions for our wedding and we couldn't have gone with a better choice! After doing a lot of research and talking with multiple DJs/companies, we knew that DJ Gilad Emesh would be right for us. He is so friendly and easy to talk to that we felt comfortable with him right away. It was extremely important for us that our wedding have the type of music and vibe that would make it a continuous dance party while also representing our cultures (we are Israeli and Russian). Gilad was a pleasure to work with and a very experienced professional. We were impressed by how knowledgable and able he was to incorporate all types of music (dance, electronic, latin, russian, israeli, hip hop, etc), and also went the extra mile by helping us decide on the flow of our wedding schedule. He was able to bring the style we wanted and get everyone on the dance floor and read the crowd. So many friends and family members (both younger and older) complimented us on how great he was! The emcee that worked with Gilad was also fantastic and spoke very naturally with the crowd without being too involved, which was exactly what we wanted. If you are considering hiring On Air Pros, definitely don't hesitate- you can rest assured that you are in great hands and won't regret it! Thank you so much Gilad!!”
Common Questions
Cold Spark Machines FAQ
Are cold spark machines safe to use indoors?
Yes. Cold spark machines are designed for indoor use because the sparks they produce are low-temperature and cool almost instantly, so there is no open flame and no burning heat like traditional pyrotechnics. The effect looks like a shimmering fountain of sparks, but you can pass your hand near the fall without being burned. We still position and operate every unit responsibly, keep clearance from guests and decor, and follow the venue's rules so the moment is dramatic and worry-free.
What moments work best with cold spark machines?
Cold sparks shine during the high-energy peaks of an event. The most popular moments are grand entrances, the couple's first dance, the hora lift, the cake cutting, and the reveal at a bar or bat mitzvah. They also frame a headline performer, a product launch, or a corporate award moment beautifully. Because we run sound, lighting and the sparks together as one production, the fountains fire exactly on the beat instead of a beat late.
How are cold spark machines different from real fireworks or pyro?
Traditional pyrotechnics use combustion and produce genuine flame, smoke and high heat, which is why most indoor venues do not allow them. Cold spark machines create their fountain effect at a far lower temperature with no real flame, so they are welcome in ballrooms, hotels and event spaces where open pyro is off limits. You get the wow of a spark shower without the smoke, the fire risk, or the permitting headaches of live fireworks.
Do you set the cold spark machines up and run them for us?
Always. On Air Productions LA is a one-vendor full production, so DJ Gilad Emesh and the team deliver, place, test and operate every cold spark unit for you. We handle the timing with the music and lighting, cue each fountain to the exact moment you want, and pack everything out afterward. You are never left to configure equipment or guess when to press a button — you enjoy your event while we run the show.
Will the venue allow cold spark machines at my Los Angeles event?
Most Los Angeles and Southern California venues that prohibit open flame still permit cold spark machines because they run cool and produce no real fire. That said, every venue has its own policy. We are happy to talk with your venue's coordinator ahead of time, confirm their requirements, and adjust placement and clearances so everyone is comfortable. If a specific space cannot accommodate them, we will tell you honestly and suggest an alternative effect.
Can cold spark machines be combined with your DJ, lighting and stage services?
That is exactly how we prefer to work. Because we are a single production company handling DJ, MC, lighting, stage design, LED screens and effects, the cold sparks are choreographed into the whole show rather than bolted on. The uplighting dims, the track hits its drop, the fountains rise, and the entrance lands as one seamless moment. Bundling everything with one team also means one point of contact and one crew who already know your timeline.
