The idea
Not a ballroom. A house.
Some celebrations ask for more than a room with a dance floor. They ask for a private drive, a house that seems to have been waiting for you, and a view that changes the light every hour you are there.
These three are in the hills and on the ridges of Malibu: a stone villa built by hand, a white garden house with blue doors, and a modern house that looks straight out at the Pacific. Each is a private home rather than a venue with a banquet office, and each has a character of its own. The planning is unhurried. We learn what you are celebrating first, then help you choose the house that fits it.
An estate celebration is a different investment than a ballroom — and a different kind of night.

Weddings at a private estate in Malibu
A ceremony on the lawn with the canyon behind you, cocktails on the terraces as the light turns gold, dinner under the pergola and dancing until the last song. Mintcello Estate was made for exactly this, with a 4,500 sq ft lawn for the ceremony. The Blue and The Aviator suit smaller, more intimate weddings. Many couples plan more than one event at Mintcello Estate: a welcome dinner the night before and a farewell brunch the morning after, each planned and quoted as its own event.
Jewish and Israeli weddings at a private estate
The chuppah on Mintcello Estate's lawn, with the canyon and the Pacific beyond it. The hora on the terrace, the chair lifted high under the evening sky. Our team produces Jewish and Israeli weddings from the first note of the processional to the last dance, with an MC in Hebrew and English if you'd like one, and plans the night so its biggest moments land before the music moves inside.
Bar and Bat Mitzvahs at a private estate
A Bar or Bat Mitzvah needs room for two parties at once. The Blue has it: the pool patio and the garden for your child and their friends, the pergola terraces and the 900 sq ft roof deck for the adults, the lawn for everyone when the hora starts. Up to 250 guests, and our team for the candle lighting, the entrance and the dance floor if you'd like.
Corporate offsites, retreat days and brand events
A day away from the office that feels like one. A leadership session in The Aviator's great room, its glass walls open to the lawn and the ocean; a client evening on its covered patio; a team dinner on the grounds of Mintcello Estate. Planned as day and evening events, with sound, lighting and LED from our own crew if the day needs them.
Milestone birthdays and private celebrations
Fiftieths and sixtieths, anniversaries, engagements, a long dinner for the people who matter most. The estates are at their best for evenings that begin at sunset, and for guest lists that feel like family.

- Extra restrooms are brought in for 40 guests or more at every estate.

- Mintcello Estate: valet parking on site, with a shuttle for larger guest lists. The Aviator: parking for 32 cars on site. Arrival is planned with the estate for every event.

Can we hold a wedding at a private estate in Malibu?
On Air Productions LA hosts weddings at three private estates in Malibu, Mintcello Estate, The Blue and The Aviator, in collaboration with their owners. Every event is subject to the estate's house rules and local permits.
How many guests can each estate host?
Mintcello Estate and The Blue host up to 250 guests each, and The Aviator up to 150. These are the owners' figures; local permits can set a lower number for a particular event.
Which estates have an ocean view?
Mintcello Estate looks over the Pacific and the canyon, and The Aviator has two hundred degrees of Pacific coastline. The Blue looks over the canyon and the mountains.
Do you own the estates?
No. Each estate is privately owned; we host events there in collaboration with its owners.

Can we have a Bar or Bat Mitzvah at a private estate in Malibu?
The Blue is made for it: a pool and spa, a 9,260 sq ft garden and lawn and a 900 sq ft roof deck, for up to 250 guests. Mintcello Estate also hosts up to 250. Our team can produce the whole celebration, from the candle lighting to the hora, if you'd like.
Do we have to use On Air's DJ or production?
Our entertainment is optional: you can hold your event at an estate without any of it. A DJ, an MC, live musicians, lighting, LED and full production are there if you'd like them.
